High School Educated

Start your engine.

Jump start your career as an Oil Express Technician and learn how to properly perform basic maintenance on light duty cars and trucks, including the procedures for under-car maintenance and under hood maintenance. Interact with guests as you educate them on the condition of their vehicle and the maintenance services performed while they’re here, as well as any services that are coming due in the future. You’ll typically spend 6-12 months+ in this level before advancing your career.

Trade School Educated

Shift into high gear.

As an Apprentice Technician, you’ll be paired up with one of our most experienced Technicians to learn and grow under their guidance. You’ll work to obtain all eight State of Michigan technician certifications and/or ASE certifications to become master certified. Continue your manufacturers training (if in a franchise dealership) and follow an educational path developed by you and your service manager. Learn and grow as you perform the services listed in the oil express and express technician section plus much more in alignment with your certification and training levels achieved. Transferable Skills

Welcome to automotive.

Join the Bill Marsh team as an Express Technician and discover how your existing skill set can transfer to the automotive service field in addition to growing your knowledge of vehicle maintenance and express services. Begin your manufacturers training on fundamentals and safety, receive support as you obtain the required State of Michigan technician trainee permit (if not already certified), and complete the brake and steering & suspension certifications. You’ll typically spend 6-18 months+ in the level before advancing your career.

Military

Transition to a civilian career.

Make a smooth transition into a meaningful civilian career. Start as an Oil Express Technician and learn how to properly perform basic maintenance on light duty cars and trucks, including procedures for under-car maintenance and under hood maintenance. Master Auto Technician

The last new job you’ll ever have.

You are a Specialty or Master Certified Technician in the State of Michigan and can now work under your own state mechanic’s license number and complete diagnosis and repairs in all of the categories you are certified in. You’ll continue your training path in the franchise store you work in to get to or maintain a 100% level with our support of your yearly update training classes.
